ABOUT US
OUR ROOTS
Norwest Place Housing Co-operative was designed as a 50 unit co-operative housing project for persons 55 years of age and older in the north-west end of Regina, Saskatchewan.
Our five story structure was designed by Partnership Architects and built by Cairns Development. There are 17 one bedroom units and 33 two bedroom units, 4 of which are special needs.
(see 'unit details')
Sod turning took place on
November 4, 1988.
Keys were allocated to members on August 28, 1989 and Norwest Place became a home to many.

OUR BUILDING
In addition to our 50 units (suites), the main floor houses a well appointed kitchen, lounge and guest suite, all of which are available for members to rent at a nominal fee. There is also an office, janitorial room and garbage room. Each floor has a laundry room and members have an assigned laundry time.
We are a smoke free, pet free environment and are scent sensitive. We request that our members refrain from using scented products. Members are assigned one electrified parking spot per unit.
We are within walking distance to a grocery store, pharmacies, medical, chiropractic and massage clinics, hair salons, dining options, fitness facilities, banks, churches and a public library. In addition, there are three lovely parks nearby with manmade lakes and walking paths.
If you need something further away, the bus stop is near by.
OUR ACTIVITIES
Activites are plentiful and varied at Norwest. Participating on a committee, and helping with the maintenance and upkeep of our building and grounds is essential for our co-operative to remain viable. There are also opportunities for social interaction, from sing-a-longs, Thursday morning coffee, card games, shuffleboard, bingo, and billiards. Additionally, we have a workshop,
and there are lots of opportunities
for gardening and keeping the grounds beautiful.
Many hands make light work,
and we need all the hands
working together.
